What is the best free video call app?

The best free video call app is the one the other person already has. FaceTime works between Apple devices and with anyone through a link. WhatsApp and Signal video calls work on any phone. For group calls on a computer, Google Meet is free in the browser with no download. Zoom's free plan cuts group meetings at 40 minutes.
