Signal is the most private messaging app. Every message and call is end-to-end encrypted, it keeps almost no data about you, and it is run by a nonprofit. WhatsApp also encrypts messages but shares account data with Meta. Telegram chats are not end-to-end encrypted unless you start a Secret Chat.
